How I make the 40
How I make the 40 and 50 cm squares of origami paper I use to create my super complex box pleated origami models Ridley, Caduceus, Smaug and Jabberwocky.

You do not need to use the paper or the wallpaper paste I show in the video. I only show those as examples because I have worked with them so I know for sure that they are good. Also, the most common question I get asked is what kind of paper I used and I wanted to be helpful. www.papyrusonline.com is the link to the company that makes the paper. They do not have every type of their tissue paper online that they sell in the stores but if you write to them maybe they will start to offer more online. There is a section on their site where you can write their customer service department a message. I don't work for their company. I just happen to like using their paper and I wanted to share what I know with you.
The paste is just ordinary wallpaper paste I got at the hardware store.
You can use any tissue paper that you like. I only show that one specifically because It has never torn for me. Tissue paper is sold everywhere. There are many good brands. The idea of this video is that you can use the kinds of tissue paper that are locally available to you so you don't have to order paper online. I wanted to make large two color origami paper more available.
There is another method of putting ridley together where you add the pre-creases to two 40 cm squares, one purple and one pink, and collapse them together using the pleats in the model to hold the sheets together. After the base is collapses, you can add CMC or whatever shaping paste to the paper even if it is the kind that rips easily. This it the original way I made the first Ridley before I started experamenting with the method you see in this video. The way I just mentioned takes longer but it is another option.
