Each of the Genesis Sonic
Each of the Genesis Sonic games, including CD, have their own feel and aura to them. I can definitely feel here going from Lava Reef from Sonic 3 & Knuckles to Sonic CD's Metallic Madness.

There's nothing new that Plus added to Metallic Madness until the very end of it after beating Eggman. Your character(s) manages to go outside of the base and notice a gigantic, imposing mech in the background. That is the Titanic Monarch.
During this, lighting also strikes to show this mech off. If Tails is there during this cutscene, he'll jump in a fright. "I'M AFWAID OF LIGHTNING!"
