Make the Best Solid Scrub Bars that are Fluffy!

Learn how to make the BEST solid scrub bars!!!  The bars are firm on the outside and fluffy & soft on the inside.  Once activated, the bar becomes a fluffy blanket of exfoliating, cleansing, & moisturizing goodness!   Seriously, this scrub is amazing!!!
RECIPE:
Dry Ingredients: 1/8 cup baking soda, 1 tablespoon citric acid, ½ tablespoon sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, 1/8 cup clay (I used Kaolin), 1 tablespoon starch (I used potato), 7 ounces exfoliant (I used sugar & fine dead sea salt).  Sieve & mix dry ingredients. ***You may add color powder/mica & dried herbs/flowers if you wish. * Add elements that enhance the scent/theme of scrub. I scented scrub with mint, jasmine, & a bit of lavender.  So, I added a bit of purple color powder, mint leaves, & lavender buds.  
Wet Ingredients: Melt on low: 2 ounces soap base, 1 ounce butter/oil (I used mango butter), & 1 ounce emulsifying wax.  Once melted, take off heat & cool below 125 degrees Fahrenheit (52 degrees Celsius).  Add 3 milliliters fragrance oil & 1 milliliter preservative (Germall plus, linked).  Now add wet to dry ingredients.  Mix well & squeeze mix between fingers.  Divide scrub into number of colors you want. I added a bit of mica to each.  ***Scrub should be warm when molding, about 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius). If it cools, microwave for 5 second intervals.  You may add decorative elements before molding (lavender buds, salts).  Choose decorative elements that complement the scrub's color (usually opposite color of scrub).  ***My favorite scrubs had just a little salt & only 2 different colors. It’s hard not to go crazy, adding lots of salts, decorations, & different colors, but in this case – less is better!  MOLDING: Pack molds well & make tops flat.  Freeze bars solid, about 1 hour, to avoid breaking the bars during un-molding.  PACKAGING: Stack small bars lightly on top each other; don’t smoosh them together. Scrubs shouldn't stick together in jar.  Shrink-wrap large bars.  Don't expose them to extreme heat.
SUBSTITUTIONS: You can use a different wax, however the amounts will NOT be the same & further testing/formulating is highly recommended.  Scrub should last at least 1 year.
