The Dawoodi Bohras' Ashara Mubaraka event in line with the UAE's Year of Sustainability initiative.

"The Dawoodi Bohra community is one clear example of how a community together can create a massive positive impact on the environment. One of the key things we noticed about the community is how sustainability was considered right at the planning stages of the Ashara Mubaraka event to make it a Zero Waste event," said Sherry Mathew, Sustainability head at Beeah which is one of the UAE’s leading environmental and waste management agencies.

The Dawoodi Bohra partnered with Beeah Tandeef and Dulsco waste management agencies for the Ashara Mubaraka 1445H event to adopt 'Waste to Energy' and 'Waste to Recycle' programs and align the event --comprising around 75,000 attendees from all parts of the world -- as per the UAE's 'Year of Sustainability' initiative.
