Orchard Road Info:
Orchard Road’s beginnings date back to the early 1830s, when it was home to fruit orchards, nutmeg plantations and pepper farms. In 1958, Orchard Road’s first department store—TANGS—was set up by local merchant C.K. Tang. It was known as the House of Tangs and it marked Orchard Road's first step towards becoming Singapore’s most famous shopping district.
Currently, Orchard Road’s is a shopping and dining paradise, with over 5,000 establishments offering food, clothing, luxury goods to tourists and locals alike.
