Forgetting Bluetooth connection, always getting, "Pairing Unsuccessful" Try Turn off/on Bluetooth

I was trying to reconnect my bluetooth inland keyboard to my ipad 2 after forgetting the BT connection.  Unfortunately, I was getting the following message on my settings bluetooth page which made it difficult to reconnect the bluetooth keyboard.  Long story short.. if you have issues.. just try turning on and off the bluetooth connection.  That might be easy enough to get rid of that message.

Disclaimer:  Boring Video.  I made this video because on my older ipad 2, after I forget the bluetooth connection for my inland bluetooth keyboard, the ipad constantly says: "Pairing Unsuccessful" Make sure "Bluetooth Keyboard" is turned on, in range, and is ready to pair.

The big issue with this is I tried to forget the connection.  Why is it still trying to connect:

On your ipad in settings you can try the following:
1) In settings, Bluetooth (or through shortcuts) turn on and off the bluetooth.  Hopefully it will be that simple to get rid of the error message.
2) Otherwise, try resetting your ipad.

After I did that, I proceeded to connect my bluetooth keyboard again.
