Despite his declining fortunes, he refuses to let go of his extravagant lifestyle and continues to host elaborate music concerts, even as his family and estate face financial ruin.
The Criterion Collection, a prestigious and influential film distribution company dedicated to restoring and preserving films, played a crucial role in restoring this classic. They collaborated with the Academy Film Archive and the Satyajit Ray Preservation Project to create a restored version of many of Ray's work. This initiative not only paid tribute to the legacy of a great filmmaker but also ensured that future generations could experience the timeless brilliance of Ray's work.
