Train To Jambusar: A Meditation on an Indian Narrow Gauge Railway

This is a film about a unique narrow gauge railway in Gujarat, which focusses on the sights and sounds of the journey between Vadodara and Jambusar and includes a few of my thoughts and feelings about this truly special railway.

The film has taken me rather a long time to finish, what with work and other commitments, some of which you can find out about on this channel. I made it some time ago but various events over the last 4 years diverted my attention.

Now it's finally complete, with a new grade and sound mix. I hope you will enjoy.

NB - At the time of making the film, I said that the line may be in jeopardy, without realising that the decision had already been made to replace the narrowgauge line with a broadgauge service.

In 2024, some of the tracks have been lifted and some railway buildings have been demolished. When you watch the film, I hope you will appreciate why this news fills me with a deep longing for what has passed.
