Isle of Man Railway - Steam Freight & Manx Northern Coaches Photo Evenings - 25th & 26th July 2023

As part of the Year of the Railways 2023, celebrating 150 Years of the Isle of Man Railway, two photographic evenings were held out of Douglas as part of the Heritage Transport Festival.

Freshly outshoped F39 Foxdale Coach, joined 'H' Wagon and 'G1' on an evening photographic charter on the Isle of Man Steam Railway as far as Santon, stopping at Oakhill, Kerristal and Port Soderick for run pasts. . The following evening the freshly restored Manx Northern Railway Cleminson Coach, dating from 1879, joined the Foxdale coach and wagons for a wet evenings steam around Douglas station (the Cleminson being restricted to station limits running).

Beyer, Peacock Works No. 1416 of 1874 Isle of Man Railways Number 4 'Loch' took the train on both evenings.

Originally both charters were due to be hauled by MNR Number 4 Caledonia, with IMR Number 4 Loch substituting as Caledonia returned from Knockaloe with broken springs which kept it out of service on its return.

The Isle of Man Railway is a 3 foot gauge railway running from Douglas to Port Erin.
