How to Fix a Pool Heat Pump Leaking Water Aqua Pro and Others

We have a Aqua Pro Pool Heat Pump, but this particular model goes by many many names. they are all the same inside. This one had a huge water leak coming from inside the unit. I contemplated buying a new one for $2000.00 but instead I called a Heat Pump Technician who came right away. We opened the top cover and looked inside and saw the leak. It was a plastic nut on the fitting that joins the copper heat exchanger. All he did was turn the nut 1/4 of a turn to tighten it up and the leak stopped . A couple of years later it was leaking again so I used a faucet wrench to reach down and tighten it up and sure enough, another 1/4 turn fixed it.
If you have this type of heat pump or many more like it, there is a good chance it is leaking there as well Good luck . Let me know how you make out in the comment section please .
