The Elvis Hologram Project

This is a demonstration video project created using deepfake technology. The original goal of the project was to create an Elvis Presley hologram for the 2024 Scottish Elvis Festival where Elvis would effectively be brought back to life as a hologram to perform alongside a live band.

This project involved recording World Champion Elvis Presley Tribute Artiest Johnny Lee Memphis lip syncing to an Elvis track, removing the background and mapping Elvis Presleys face onto Johnny's using AI.

This video was intended to be shown on a hologram projector where all "black areas" would become transparent which would create the effect of Elvis popping off the screen as a hologram. Ultimately the project was abandoned as unlike the Peppers Ghost method, using a fan-type projector meant that Elvis would be unable to move on the stage and would be stuck in the one position and part of his feet would be cut off as the fan blades don't align with the floor.
