MSS recounts an episode of what happened on the morning of the famous UN concert on 23 October 1966

People have requested a translation of what she is saying in the beginning of the video. Here is my attempt.

Regarding the UN concert, Maha Perival (Kanchi Kamokoti senior seer) was the person who blessed me saying “Go ahead and do it, wherever you go, you will be victorious”. His words were very important to me, without His blessings, it would have never happened. First we had the coast-to-coast concerts (in the US) before the final one, which was the UN concert. In Washington, we were staying with BK Nehru. Prior day, I had performed at a different venue, next day was the rehearsal followed by the concert (there is some confusion in her dates/times and places, they seem somewhat inconsistent).
I got up in the morning with a sore/hoarse throat, my voice was completely gone. I sat in front of Perival’s picture praying, you said I would come back with victory, look my voice is gone… I didn’t tell anything to this man (her husband Shri Sadasivam) or Radha (her daughter and vocal accompanist at the concerts), but my heart was heavy. I was still praying to Perival’s pictures with some flowers, when Radha came by and said “get ready, it’s getting late to go to the hall for the 3 o’clock rehearsal”. Somehow I got ready and went there… they were all white people in the crowd. Our folks were only CV Narasimhan (then Under Secretary General of the UN) and G Parthasarathy who were accompanying us. I sat down (on the dais), my legs were shaking. I started with “Om”… (long pause, choking back tears)… that voice, it just came back!
