How To Organise Your Life | Moving Out Of Home & Moving House. Today I share all my tips for moving out of home or moving into a new house. I've moved a lot in the last 8 years and had many rental properties so I thought it might be helpful to share my experience for any one who is about to more or moving out for the first time.
Check List
- Have savings or find a job before moving
- Look for jobs online
- Look for properties online - www.realestate.com.au
- Have 4-6 weeks rent saved up for your bond - Goes to the rental bond board
- Have 2-4 weeks rent saved up for your upfront rent payment
- Can pay fortnightly, monthly or weekly - negotiate
- 6, 12 or 24 month leases - negotiate
- Do your condition report asap, use cameras if needed
- Electricity, water & gas are easy to set up and are usually running immediately
- Internet will take around 3 weeks to get set up
- Set them up for direct debit or pay as you get them
- Set up for either email or paper bills, paper bills sometimes cost $2
- Try a share house to be more affordable
- Gumtree is great for that
- Be wary of private rentals, use your best judgement
- Now is the time to declutter
- Get empty boxes from retail stores to use to move
- Don't be in a rush to furnish your house, it can take time
- Ikea, Kmart, Fantastic Furniture, MyDeal & Super Amart are affordable
