What is Software Defined Networking (SDN)?

SDN technology enables IT, administrators, to configure and manage their networks by using software, from a centralized management platform, removing the need for physically changing network equipment.

In Technically U terminology, SDN can create and control a virtual network or control traditional networking hardware via remote software. The SDN software is interoperable and agnostic, meaning it should be able to work with any networking device no matter the manufacturer.
