History of the Egyptian flag 1805-1952:

1. The red flag with one crescent and one 6 tipped star was the flag of Egypt under the Otomann empire since the Ottoman occupation until 1826

2. The red flag with one crecsent, one 5 tipped star was established by Mohamed-Aly the Great as Egypt became a country with "special status" in relation to the Port.

3. In 1867, with the second step towards independence, Khedive Ismail Pasha introduced a new design to include three crescents and three stars

4. In 1882, Khedive Tawfik reintroduced the single crescent and single star flag which remained the official flag of Egypt until the beginning of the Great War (WW1) and the declaration of Egypt a British Protectorate and an independent Sultanate cutting all relations with the Ottoman Port. Then once again, the tri-crescent-tri-star flag returned to the flagpoles of Egypt

5. On the 15th of March 1922 Egypt was declared an independent Kingdom and the next year it witnessed the introduction of the green flag with a white crescent and three stars which remained the insignia of the Egyptian nation even after the military coup in 1952 until 1958

The song was made by Abdel Al Wahab, and it won a compition in 1934 to write and compose a greeting song for the flag of Egypt.
