Ski Arlberg is an Epic Pass partner resort that is the seventh largest ski and snowboard resort in the world.  What are the pros and cons of Ski Arlberg?

1) CON: Unlike the Ikon Pass, the Epic Pass requires that you stay at designated hotels at certain partner resorts in Europe in order to use your Epic Pass there.  Ski Arlberg is one of them.  So make sure you read the restrictions so that you can use your Epic Pass.  And you may want to consider whether you'll ultimately save money by booking your own accommodations, buying a pass on your own, and skipping Epic Pass.

2) CON: The layout of Ski Arlberg can be a bit confusing at first, and the different mountains may not be as connected as you assume.  There are a few places, like Lech, where you have to walk a bit between the end of a slope and the chairlift, and the Auenfeldjet is an example of a gondola which doesn't take you up.  It takes you across, to connect two different areas.  The trail map can also be a bit confusing to read in the beginning.

3) PRO: Ski Arlberg has many "extreme" skiing features that are easily accessible from groomed slopes, which is great if you're skiing or snowboarding with people of different levels.  The more advanced skiers and snowboarders can explore the extreme features and join right back up with everyone else.  It's also perfect for those who are learning to handle more difficult terrain because they can take a quick shot at it and go right back to easier groomed slopes.

4) PRO: Accommodations.  There are so many towns at Ski Arlberg that there countless options for accommodations.  Lech and Zurs are the most centrally located, so if you want to stay in an area that makes it easy to get around all of Ski Arlberg's terrain, you may want to focus on them.

5) PRO: St. Anton's après-ski scene is extremely lively.  If you want to socialize after your day on the mountain, or you're with people who prefer time in a lively town, you may want to stay in St. Anton.  There are tons of bars, restaurants and clubs.  You won't be disappointed!

6) PRO: If you don't speak German but do speak English, you shouldn't have much difficulty at Ski Arlberg.  English seems to be spoken everywhere.

7) PRO: There are so many towns in Ski Arlberg, and the terrain is so spread out, that there seems to be an unlimited supply of mountain restaurants.  Perfect for when it's sunny and you want to lounge outside while you eat.
