Fast Autobahn acceleration test with the recently facelifted 2014/2015 Audi A8 3.0 TDI Clean Diesel developing 258 hp and 580 Nm of torque over a wide powerband. In contrast to the A6/A7 that feature a 7-speed S-Tronic with this engine the A8 always comes standard with the great 8-Gear ZF transmission. As you can see in the acceleration clip the transmission has fast gear changes and the car accelerates pretty decent to 200 km/h despite the weight of almost 2 tones. In comparison, a LCI BMW 740d is around 1.5 sec. faster to 200 km/h, but also having more horsepower (313) and a bit more torque (630).
