Between 2004 and 2007, Mount St. Helens entered a new period of eruptive activity. As the volcanic activity slowed, scientists from the US Geological Survey deployed a variety of new tools to better understand the forces at work on the Northwest’s most active volcano. Originally broadcast in 2009.
OPB is revisiting decades of stories our reporters and producers captured while working with scientists, photographers, adventurers and explorers on the volcano since its eruption on May 18, 1980.
