STORYLINE:
The former residence of the Taliban spiritual leader, Mullah Mohammed Omar, has become a tourist attraction for the residents of Kandahar.
The size and apparent opulence of the compound has sparked the interest and curiousity of locals.
Until recently, access to the residence was strictly off limits to anyone other that high ranking Taliban leaders.
It's unknown when Mullah Omar and his entourage abandoned the residence but he is believed to have fled it some time during the US-led bombing raids, which appear to have damaged parts of the complex.
The compound is going to be put at the disposal of Hamid Karzai, the incoming leader of the interim government in Afghanistan.
