5 weeks of officer development
5 weeks of officer development school and meeting the best people along the way! I made this video to share what ODS was like for me as well as hopefully some useful tips. This experience had its challenges but overall I found it positive and exciting! There is so much to learn about the Navy and this is just the beginning! You really do meet the best people who are so willing to help you along the way.
I mentioned I would put my galley bill in here and it was $414. You will have to pay this your last week of ODS.

Some tips:
1) Study your gouge sheet if you can before arriving, it will make your uniform inspection easier.
2) Bring an iron or a steamer, get a shoe polishing kit if you don’t have one (they sell them at the uniform shop).
3) Washable laundry bag/ bags to keep your things separate.
4) Bring a ruler and a clipboard! These really help with getting uniforms ready and making your beds!
5) Bring a good notebook and always have something to write with/ on with you.
6) You won’t wear civilian clothes while there however if your going to Navy Med 101 directly after (like me) some people brought outfits to wear out when they got there!
7) Baby wipes. You won't have time for hygiene after PT most days and will be changing straight into your khakis for class.
