Today we're traveling by ferry to go mountain biking in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. This is definitely a bucket list mountain bike ride. On the border of Canada and the U.S, these islands are only accessible by boat and boast some truly epic mountain biking. Hopping on a new set of trails without a local friend can be intimidating. Which loop should I do? How long is the climb? Where do we turn again? Tackle your ride with confidence using this sneak peek of the Mt. Constitution mountain bike trails, multi-use mountain biking trail system on Orcas Island, Washington. We'll begin our day by driving up from Seattle, WA to Anacortes where we'll hop on the ferry. After a quick ride and some beautiful views, we'll grab a bite to eat in East Sound Orcas Island and head on over to our destination, Mt. Constitution mountain biking trails. With a smattering of blues and greens, a couple of blacks, and even a double black jump line, Mt. Constitution at Moran State Park has a little bit of MTB for everyone. Whether you're at a level of beginner mountain biking, or hitting advanced lines, this is a fantastic place to spend a weekend. For bonus points, camp at Moran State Park and ride both days. The best part? It's shuttle-friendly. Unfortunately, you should make sure to time your visit well because this spot is only open to bikes between September 15 and May 15. Living and mountain biking in Washington is outright unfair to the rest of the country. We've got thousands of miles of world-class trails within minutes, and many more within an hour or two in any direction.
