"Venture into the Enduro World Cup Stage 5 on the Matzalm Trail with me and discover why it's an unmissable experience. This natural trail is a hidden gem, and its unique mix of gnarly roots, tight corners, and steep, rocky terrain provides a thrilling challenge for all riders.
The Matzalm Trail is often left aside, leading away from the bustling base stations of the Leogang cable cars. Approximately one kilometer of the descent takes you along a forest road, and in the lower section, a short push is required. This isolation means relatively few bike park visitors find their way here. But for dedicated enduro enthusiasts, this trail is a must-ride – a true testament to the essence of mountain biking.
During my ride, I encountered a brief section near Embachalm that was closed, but it could be bypassed via a forest road. As the trail concludes, you'll find yourself on an asphalt road leading back towards Leogang. Expect a 2-3 kilometer pedal to return to the gondola.
