Bajaj Auto Buyback: Should One Buy To Play The Buyback Trade? | Business News

Bajaj Auto announced its second buyback in the last two years. This time the company announced a buyback of Rs 4000 crore via tender route. The company will be buying back 40 lakh shares at a price of Rs 10000 each, which is at a premium of 43% to January 8 closing price.
Though the buyback price is at a premium of 43%, but the actual gains for any fresh investor would be limited given the high premium and 1.5 cr retail shares in the market. Lower the acceptance ratio, lower will be the gains for any retail and general shareholders.
