Comgrow Filament dryer review and improvements

The Comgrow filament dryer / drybox that I bought needed two improvements. First, the fan was noisy, so I replaced the 40x40x10 12V DC fan with a 24 volt version, so that it would run slower and quieter. (This did reduce the air circulation...but it is a small box). The second is that it really only works well for "tall narrow" spools. You can fit two tall-narrow spools of filament into it just fine, but if you put a short/wide spool in that has a lot of filament, the filament will hit the center support beam. You might be able to cut out this support beam, but I didn't do that because I was worried it might have negative consequences for the structural stability of the spool rollers. Mostly, I'll be using it to dry filament, and not dispense it. For $50, it is a quick and easy way to dry and store filament. Amazon affiliate link: amzn.to/3iSLrRd
