The video reports on the troop visit by Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on July 7 and 8, 2024 in FairBanks, Alaska (USA). The minister had traveled there to get an on-site impression of Arctic Defender 2024. Arctic Defender 2024 is a sub-exercise of the extensive Pacific Skies 2024 exercise. 41 nations with 430 aircraft and 1,800 soldiers are taking part in Pacific Skies 2024. The exercise extends over 4 continents. At Arctic Defender in Alaska, low-level flight (30 meters) with fighter jets such as the Tornado is practiced in particular. German, Spanish, French and American soldiers are taking part in the Arctic Skies 2024 sub-exercise. The video begins with the flight over the Arctic north of Iceland and Greenland, showing the setup of the static display with various aircraft (Eurofighter, Rafale, H145M helicopters, F-35 and others). At the same time, the exercise begins with take-offs and landings. After the leadership meeting, the minister appears at the static display and has the soldiers explain the planes and helicopter to him. An A400M joins them during the tour. The minister then goes into a round of talks with the troops while other fighter planes take off and land outside. The fighter planes marked in blue represent the enemy. Our own forces have no additional markings. At the end there is a press meeting and then the onward flight to Washington D.C.
