POV from my first time
POV from my first time racing the EWS 100 Tweed Valley! This final round of the Enduro World Series 2021 saw some proper savage conditions!
It was really good to see the EWS return here to Scotland after many years and at such an iconic MTB venue. With the event village in Innerleithen, the course took in trails across the main Innerleithen DH side and the Golfie side. The timed stages were long and the full race course was 5 stages of around 37km with 1600m of elevation. One practice day and one race day.
This was by far the hardest MTB race I've done. Staying warm was a real challenge and the stages were so long and physical. The training paid off though and I felt I could really give my all to the end!
I took the Go Pro round the stages and got POV footage which came out surprisingly well despite the rain and mud! Mountain biking in the Tweed Valley in autumn can be pretty wet!
I hope in sharing this it'll give an insight into what the EWS 100 is like, particularly in Scotland! I was buzzing to take 7th place from 15 in my category and I can't wait for more MTB racing! Looks like the Scottish Enduro Series will be next in 2022!
