This is one of the weaving techniques that I learned at the coffee bag weaving camp from one of the teachers.
Tutorial for basket weaving. A fun and creative way to upcycle plastic coffee bags into durable and functional baskets.
The coffee bags have been opened, cleaned, ironed (press between baking paper sheets with medium temperature (**) iron for a few seconds, the insides of the coffee bags facing each other) into 2-layer sheets and cut into thin strips.
For the weaving you need:
- empty coffee bags or other plastic packaging that can be melted to form a 2-layer strip
- scissors
- clothespins or other clips
- masking tape
Size of the strips: 80 x 2 cm
You need 8 strips for this project.
Size of the basket:
Height: ~ 10 cm
Base: ~ 8 x 8 cm
