You may have heard about the word “lightweight”, or “new material”. But you don’t know what it is exactly.
One of the new materials we are going to introduce to you today is the Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Unidirectional Tape, namely CFRTP - UD Tape.
More and more lightweight materials are widely applied in all fields. CFRTP UD Tape is one of basic new material are getting more and more popular. It can be seen in sports goods, rail transit or aerospace materials etc.
After combining advanced foreign technology and years of experience accumulating, jota machinery has successfully developed our own CFRTP UD tape prepreg production line by hot melt impregnation method, and started production at one of our domestic customer plants.
The hot melt impregnation method is widely accepted by the engineer because of its ultra-high glass fiber content and better tensile properties. Our UD tape impregnation production line can produce glass fiber unidirectional tape with a maximum content of 70%. The highest performance exceeds 1000Mpa. It is superior!
The process of the hot melt impregnation method includes unwinding-spreading yarn-preheating-impregnation-cooling forming-rewinding. The whole process is controlled by PLC and the data is displayed on the touch screen HMI. The operation is simple and convenient.
Thanks to the excellent tension system and yarn spreading system, the thickness of UD tape reaches 0.15-0.6mm. The unwinding of 192 yarns of glass fiber achieves an effective Tape width of 650mm. D65 high-precision screw extruder, the maximum production speed reaches 15m/min. And daily capacity is around 2000kg.
Combining our years of accumulated experience in the CFRTP field, we produce UD tapes with good uniformity, strong stress, uniform yarns, no yellow spots, no black spots, and no cracks.
