Bitterfeld railway station is located at an X of railway lines. Lines from Halle and Leipzig are entering the station from the southern side, while on the northern side lines are leading towards Dessau(–Magdeburg) and Lutherstadt Wittenberg(–Berlin). So you can watch many trains here. Sequence of scenes: 00:07 Freight train passing through the station on track 1, with a short stop. The railway line between Dessau and Bitterfeld is one of the first lines in Germany that was equipped with electric overhead wires. Electric operation began in 1911. An old (partially damaged) water tower is standing a bit sideways. 03:01 Arrival of an ICE 1 train. Reconstruction work is going on between Berlin, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, and Leipzig. ICE trains are diverted via Dessau between end of October and mid-December, 2020. Many ICE trains stop at Bitterfeld during this time.
