In this legal case, the Cherokee Nation asked the court to stop Georgia from taking their land and destroying their government. The court ruled that Indian tribes could not be considered a foreign state and did not have the same powers as states under the Constitution. The court found that the Cherokee Nation couldn't ask the court to take action against Georgia because it was a political issue, not a legal one.
