Taking you through my experience of this change. The Gotoh I used is model GE1996T&FRG-2 which is FAR superior to any Floyd I have played. Purchased on eBay for around $120. This is my second Gotoh switch and I have a much more in depth video on youtube of me changing an Ibanez trem on a JS model over to a Gotoh.

The brass big block is from floydupgrades.com. As of this writing 5/21/2010 the "L" shaped block DOES NOT fit this gotoh, so make sure you get the standard big block. I had to send back my "L" shaped blocks and Adam was very helpful with quick responses to me via email and exchanged them out right away/ Although the tone difference may not be as apparent on the video, it is richer/fuller with a lot more sustain and power than before. The guitar feels much sturdier and plays better as well. WELL WORTH the upgrade for the Gotoh and the brass block. It's a pretty easy upgrade. Adam from floydupgrades.com has several GREAT videos on youtube detailing the exact steps on how to do the job. I referenced them several times before doing the actual work, I recommend you do the same. His video on intonating a Floyd Rose changed my life and will give me back about 1000 hours of my life that I would have spent doing the frustrating job of intonating a Floyd the "old" way. His trem stopper pays for itself in 1 use just on intonating alone.

Everything was played through an Axe-FX ultra. The clean tone is the studio clean factory patch with the pitch turned off. The crunch, heavy and lead patches are my own based on the Diezel amp.
