Samsung's upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A55, is slated for a March 2024 release, boasting a 6.5-inch 120Hz display, the new Exynos 1480 chip, a 5,000 mAh battery, IP67 water/dust resistance, and a base storage of 128GB. Priced at $450, it succeeds the Galaxy A54 and A53.

Leaked renders reveal a new metal frame, reminiscent of the Galaxy S24 design, featuring a "Key Island" where the buttons are housed. However, concerns arise regarding potential performance issues, given the return of thick bezels and a budget Exynos SoC, reminiscent of the criticized A54.

The Galaxy A55's 5MP macro camera also raises eyebrows, as it follows the trend of underwhelming secondary cameras in mid-range Galaxy phones.
