Day 1: Arrival at the Airport
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport waiting room, Meet our Rwanda Gorilla Trek safari guide and transfer to Ruhengeri in the Northern Province of Rwanda for gorilla trekking the next day. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/Kinigi Guest House
Days 2: Gorilla Trekking
Take early morning breakfast and transfer to Kinigi – Volcanoes National Park Offices for briefing and then begin the gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/Kinigi Guest House.
Day 3: Dian Fossey Graveyard
Dian Fossey
Visit Dian Fossey graveyard at Karisoke. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/Kinigi Guest House.
Day4: Gorilla Trekking either in Uganda, Congo, or Same volcanoes.
Return to the Virunga Forests for more gorillas trekking and later proceed to Gishenyi – the largest port on the Rwandan shore of Lake Kivu. Gisenyi is well worth a visit, especially as it lies little more than an hour by road from the gorilla tracking base of Ruhengeri. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Malahide (FB) or We provide the option of enjoying the second gorilla trekking in Uganda( Mgahinga National Park) or Virunga National Park in Congo.
Day 5: Lake Kivu boat cruise
A full day in Gisenyi gives you an opportunity to swim and sunbathe at this beautiful beach which can be mistaken for a sweaty West African or Indian Ocean backwater. The natural coolness prevalent in consequence makes a visit there a very agreeable experience. In front are the swirling breakers of the most beautiful of the central African lakes, framed by banks that fall back steeply from the rugged masses of rock; at the rear are the stately summits of the eight Virunga Volcanoes including the recently erupted Nyiragongo Volcano. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Malahide (FB)
Day 6: Reserved for departure
Drive back to Kigali After breakfast, time permitting, we can take a visit to the Gisozi genocide memorial site in Kigali before heading to the airport for your departure flight.
