A few spoilers for 4x01!
A few spoilers for 4x01! Don't watch if you haven't seen the premiere episode! :)

These two? They've got a long road ahead, and it's not going to be pretty. And Colin Morgan has referenced a number of times the fact that the relationship between Merlin and Arthur is going to be strained.
But look how much they've grown. For three whole series we watched the two of them dance around their words, pretending they don't care as much as the rest of the world knows they do. Watched them throw insults at each other and in Arthur's case throw quite a few metal objects. And of course the banter is still there because it wouldn't be Merlin and Arthur if it weren't.
But in the first episode, and in this clip we've seen of the second? We can see how much they care about each other. They've reached that point where, once in a while, they can show it. And for all we know, we won't see this much emotional rawness between the two of them again this series. I like to think we will. But the point is? It's there. It's happened. There's proof.
Arthur was willing to give up the quest to take Merlin safely home.
At the end of the day, this show is about them. Their big old destiny. And look how far they've come.
