GSB Konkani’s make delicious, spicy, tiny dosas. These dosas are served as a side dish for lunch & dinner. These small, round dosas are called sanna polo in Konkani.

Serve these spicy dosas as a side dish along with dalithoy (Konkani style dal) & rice for lunch or dinner.Here goes the recipe to make these delicious dosas.

Ingredients:
. 1 cup finely chopped Dill leaves/Shepu bhaji/Sabbassige
. 1 medium sized finely chopped onion
. 1 cup rice - any medium grained rice or dosa rice
. 1/2 cup grated coconut
. 6-8 roasted dried byadgi red chillies
. 1 lemon sized tamarind(soak in little water)
. 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
. Pinch of Asafoetida powder
. Salt to taste
. Pinch of Sugar(optional)
. Oil for frying the dosas
. Water to grind the batter

Method:
. Soak rice for a minimum of 30 minutes.
. Drain all the water & grind rice along with grated coconut, roasted dried red
 chillies, tamarind, turmeric powder, sugar(optional), asafoetida ,salt  into a
 smooth paste using just as much water as needed for a semi-thick batter.
. Transfer this ground batter into a bowl. If your batter is too thick add water to
 obtain a semi-thick consistency. Check & adjust salt.
. Add in finely chopped dill leaves, onion and mix in well.  
. Heat up a frying pan, once it's hot, drizzle a teaspoon of oil all over the pan
 and wipe off with a tissue paper.
. Add a laddle full of batter onto the pan. Spread it out a little using the back of
 the laddle. Make small, round, thin dosa.
. Drizzle a teaspoon of oil all over the dosa.
. Fry the dosa closed until it changes colour completely on one side.
. Flip it & cook it on medium flame until it cooks completely on the other side.
. Serve the hot dosa as a side dish for lunch or dinner
