Halogen-free fire protection ingredient for transparent intumescent wood coatings – Exolit® 855

Clariant’s Exolit flame retardant for transparent intumescent coatings is a liquid partial phosphoric acid ester. In combination with the resin, Exolit 855 contains all necessary reaction partners for an intumescent reaction in one polymeric molecule at lower reaction temperatures than in conventional systems. In combination with acid curing resins Exolit 855 allows to formulate intumescent clear varnishes as a transparent flame retardant coating for solid and engineered wood (e. g. chipboards, MDF, OSB, plywood and veneered wood).
