Schofield Prototype Trials

In 1940, Ernest Schofield designed a revolutionary and unique method for a vehicle to switch between tracks and wheels. With the permission of the NZ Government, he built a wooden mockup on the chassis of a Chevrolet truck. This was followed by a Prototype vehicle made in mild steel.
This never before seen footage is of both of these vehicles being put through their paces.
