Episode 61
Jackal is one of the most exciting action games for the NES! It's an overhead run and gun shooter, similar to games like Heavy Barrel, or the overhead levels of Super C. It's also one of the best games on the NES to feature two player cooperative play!
Like most great games from the 80's, Jackal started out in the arcade. Before it made it to the NES, the game went through many changes, and had a lot of different titles. The game was developed by Konami, and they weren't the kind of company that would just covert an arcade game to a home system - they liked to add extra features and new content to make the home release special, and Jackal is no exception. The NES version may not have the same hardware, but Konami added so much new content that I would consider it superior to the arcade original.
