NRO is a Non-Resident Ordinary
NRO is a Non-Resident Ordinary Account, which is an account opened by a non-resident person or entity with a bank in India.
NRE is a Non-Resident External Account, which is an account opened by a non-resident person or entity with any bank outside India.
NRIs can open NRE accounts from banks within and outside India.
NRIs can also open NRO accounts from banks within and outside India.
NRIs can transfer funds from their NRO account to their NRE account at any time free of cost but cannot transfer funds from their NRE account to their NRO account without prior approval of RBI.
