Learn how to GREEN SCREEN
Learn how to GREEN SCREEN yourself properly into another scene!
Green screening is the technique of filming your subject against a green (or blue) backdrop in order to easily remove and replace the backdrop with a different piece of footage.
While this is in theory very simple, a lot of things need to be taken into consideration to be able to achieve a realistic looking green screen effect.
1. Your green screen needs to be lit evenly and there should be no shadows on the screen
2. Your actor can't wear anything in the same colour as the green/blue screen
3. The lighting on your actor for your green screen setup needs to match the lighting of the scene you want to place them into
In this tutorial I will discuss the most important aspects of green screening and take you through placing your subject into a Tokyo street scene in Adobe After Effects.
While I am using Adobe After Effects and the Keylight effect for this tutorial, the theory behind green screening is universal and hopefully you will find this video useful no matter what software package you are using.
