We have been taught since ever that sati pratha (forcible widow burning), dowry (dahej) pratha and many such discriminatory practices against women took birth in India. What's worse is that colonialists and their men manipulated the rich Indian texts and vedas to endorse and spread the same. This period mindwashing and colonialist mindset still prevails in the society, in thoughts and in action. Watch another example of how colonialism and series of invasions on India led to its ideological and cultural subversion and how we lost our true essence through these years, through this video!
We do not deny the existence of these practices in India in the present world and past few centuries, however condemn the belief that it all emerged in Ancient India due to India's patriarchal setup.
