I just bought an affordabale
I just bought an affordabale shotgun mic for exteriors, but I thought I’d do a comparison with my hypercardioid that I typically use for indoor dialogue/interviews.
This comparison for me was to determine if I could get away with a camera-mounted shotgun
for man-on-the-street types of interviews or if I’d always need a boom op.
LOW-CUTS were ON for both microphones
Both mics were fed into a Beachtek XLR adapter going into my Canon 60D.
Yes, I know the levels were a bit too high, so that's why there's slight distortion which I hate, but I'm not shooting this again. :-)
The traffic next to us was about 15 feet away.
