As a Mental Health Worker, you help care for physically and mentally ill individuals confined to hospitals or mental health settings. Mental Health Worker works under the direct supervision of an RN, LVN and/or LPT. MHW also know as a Mental Health Technician in some hospital and mental health facilities.  The Mental Health Worker job requires you to observe the patients and report any physical or behavioral changes to the nurse. Mental Health Worker also assists with programs for patients and provides basic nursing care.

In this video, I will quickly go over the job responsibilities and job duties of a Mental Health Worker / Mental Health Technician.

Some of the main job duties of MHW are:
- Rounds to be completed every 15 minutes (Q15)
- 1:1 observation /  1:1 to ER
- MAB/CPI: Manage behavior & intervention and prevention
- Group Activity / Workshop
- Daily Intakes for Food/Liquid
- Ensuring safety for all patients
- Interact and talk with patients with professional boundaries
