In an interview to NDTV, director Dibakar Banerjee talks about the amount of research that went into recreating 1940s Calcutta for his film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!. He says that he complied a lot of audio and visual reference of Calcutta in the 1940s before working on replicating it on the sets of the film. Dibakar also said that the positive word of mouth spreading on social platforms is helping the film.
