Think about it, it’s actually quite a logical step. If you had only one real friend in the world, and everyone else treated you like absolute garbage, acted as if they would be better off without you, and then one day your only real friend said “I’m leaving to chase my dreams”, would you not want to go with them? What has this village done for Naruto that he should care what they think about him? To be frank, Naruto’s obsession with becoming Hokage for the first part was a completely spite-motivated dream. Not too unlike Sasuke who dreamed of justice, Naruto did as well, but only, he wanted to do it in a different way. But what if Naruto wanted his own brand of justice and left with Sasuke? Well, I guess we’ll never know now will we… unless…
