How to identify dandelion when out and about. We look at a few plants that sometimes get confused with dandelion and learn the "dandelion indicators".

Starring the “Not Dandelions” - In order of appearance:

Wild Lettuce (Lactuca virosa)
Sow Thistle Sonchus arvensis
Yellow Hawkweed (Pilosella caespitosa)

Dandelion ID Tips:
Toothy leaves with smooth edges
Leaves grow at ground level in a rosette
Singular flowers
Smooth stem with no leaves
All stems and all leaves originate from the ground.
