Ian Gordon has designed some of the most popular and user friendly double handed, or Spey Rods for the worlds leading brands for over the last last 30 years.
Taking advantage of advances in base material, more especially resins and High Modulus Carbon, he has created rods designed which have become iconic in the salmon fishing marketplace.
The Cadence Ian Gordon Range takes this design to a completely new level.
A combination of Ian’s understanding of Spey Rod Design, Spey Casting and The Teaching of Fly Fishing, Ian and the Cadence team have came up with a unique concept; a concept where the Fishing Rod is fitted to the requirements of the particular angler.
All rods in the range have six sections, which, makes them not only ideal for travelling, but also, gave Ian the ability to make certain sections interchangeable, providing the market with a soft, standard, or stiff configuration in each rod. This means that rod actions can be changed to suit anglers particular techniques and fishing applications at the river side.
Actions of all four rods in the range are altered by changing one or two sections in above the handle of the rods.
Just like a Golf Swing, Fly fishing, whether it be with a single handed rod, or double handed or Spey rod, is very much about the individual, we all have different techniques or preferences.
Cadence Ian Gordon rods are manufactured using a system we call “T Mesh”. In simple terms this is providing strength in the blank by clever construction of different materials, using tried and tested resin systems to bind this together in manufacturing. What this has given us is the most robust, light and user friendly product that does what it says on the tin without any of the marketing mambo jumbo.
