Ordered a few more accessories
Ordered a few more accessories for our Kayaks. We purchased everything through www.orukayak.com/collections/accessories. This time we got the Gel Seats, Kayak Pack, and Float bags. This is an unboxing and demonstration of those items as well as our opinion of how well they work. As of 9/20/2022, these items are in stock and available for purchase. All pricing is current as of this date.
In our opinion, the Oru Gel Seat ($69) or something similar are a must. The standard cushion that comes with the kayak is not good enough. The gel seat on top of the wedge or standard cushion is good enough for a couple hours on the water.
The float bags are designed specifically for the Lake and Inlet models ($69). There are larger bags available for the larger Oru Kayak models. The bags provide a way to recover your kayak should the worst happen, and it takes on water. Without the bags the kayak will sink. These give you a chance to recover your boat and possibly get back into it. A must have piece of safety equipment second only to the personal flotation device.
The Oru Pack for Lake/Inlet ($199) is good to have if you plan to travel with your kayak. Made of a rip-stop material, it holds your kayak, paddle, and some accessories. The attached shoulder harnesses and belt strap allow you to pack the kayak to a location off the beaten path. The pack is also good if you plan on taking your kayak with you on an airplane. While too large to be carried on, it is a good way to protect your gear when checking it with your luggage.
