JOURNEY FACTS
-American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana, Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch.
-The band had its biggest commercial success between 1978 and 1987, when Steve Perry was lead vocalist.
-At the height of their popularity between 1981 and 1983 they released two very successful albums; Escape and Frontiers netting several well known, popular singles.
-Perry was hired October 10, 1977 as their lead vocalist and he made his debut with the band 18 days later.
-Record sales resulted in 25 gold and platinum albums, in addition to the 15 time platinum RIAA Diamond Certified, 1988’s Greatest Hits album.
-They’ve had 19 Top 40 singles in the US; six of which reached No. 1 on Billboard charts.
