Are the labeled sizes of ring binders the actual thickness of the binder? Nope.
The labeled size is measured in two main ways. For ROUND ring binders, they are measured by the diameter of the ring. For SLANT/D ring binders, it is the measurement of the straight edge of the ring.
At the end of the video, see an approximate actual thicknesses for some common labeled ring sizes.
